Born in the 1980's in the dawn of the mobile audio revolution, HCCA™ (High Current Competition Class ) put the industry and the competition world on notice that Orion® was a force to be reckoned with. HCCA™ gear is what you have to have to be the LOUDEST, the LOWEST and the STRONGEST system in the joint!

HCCA POWER AMPLIFERS

In the 1980's, the technology was transistors and massive class AB designs that stretched the length of a foootball field, today it's more efficient MOSFET class D designs, but the outcome is still the same: serious amounts of power driving ridiculously low impedances at completely sick output levels. Whether you're looking for an SPL world record or you just want to do some serious damage on the streets, these amplifiers wil ensure they hear you before they see you. Hellacious power intersects with extreme efficiency under rugged die-cast aluminum covers with illuminated ORION badges that tell the world that HCCA is back! And to make the comeback even sweeter, these amps even offer our patented ESP2 features.

HCCA AMPLIFIER FEATURES AND BENEFITS
ESP2™ CONTROL

ESP2 is a proprietary protocol used to program various features within MD Audio Engineering's security and remote start products. This protocol has been adapted to further enhance the capabilities of the ORION amplifers.

CUSTOM CONNECTORS

The new terminal connectors accept larger gauge wire, simplify the installation and improve the cosmetic look of the install. With less overall insertion loss, the overall power and performance of the system is improved.

EXTRUDED ALUMINUM HEAT SINK

Extruded aluminum delivers solid aluminum heat sink for maximized performance.

DIFFERENTIAL INPUTS

These days it is much more likely that the consumer will be using the factory head unit with these amplifiers. To aid in the installation, we have equipped these amplifiers with high-level inputs that also include an Auto-Sense circuit. ORION's high-level inputs accpet voltages from 1V to 10V from the head unit's speaker outputs. When more then 1V is detected on the speaker line, the amplifier will turn on. Once the voltage is gone for more than 30 seconds, the amplifier will turn off.

GAIN LOCK

Through the ESP port on the amplifier while using a MD Audio Engineering Bitwriter, the gain setting can be locked out to prevent the gain adjustment from being changed.

Matched outputs have less notch distortion and better sound quality. With symmetrical output designs, clipping the output creates an even order distortion (as opposed to an odd order distortion). if the outputs are not matched correctly. Even order distortion is much less offensive to human hearing. Thermal stability is improved as heat is dissipated from the devices more evenly.

REMOTE GAIN CONTROL

Connection of the optional RGC2 remote mountable gain control, which is included with all HCCA amplifiers, allows variable adjustments of the gain from the driver's seat. The RGC2 is only active when the crossover is set to low-pass.

SYMMETRICAL LAYOUT

Clean/efficient layout that helps to reduce hot spots and noise due to clutter or un-equal grounds or heat transfer.

PHASE SWITCHING

ORION HCCA amplifiers are equipped with the 0-180º phase switch. Depending on the acoustics of the vehicle, the low frequency response may be improved by inverting the output of the amplifier to the woofer.

INFRASONIC FILTER

Aids in the elimination of unwanted noise or harmonics at very low frequency that may degrade the sound quality of a subwoofer and/or enclosure caused by distortion or over excursion from those unwanted noises and harmonics.

CONCEALED CONTROLS

The HCCA line offers extensive control under the locking top panel. This is done to keep the aesthetics for a clean installation while offering easy access for tuning.

HCCA SUBWOOFERS

Orion® HCCA™ Subwoofers are the biggest, baddest and most hardcore subwoofers Orion has ever made! Step up to the premium 3000 watt peak SPL performance with these frighteningly powerful new red-and-black HCCA 10s and 4000 watt peak SPL performance with the new HCCA 12" and 15" subwoofers from Orion, a world leader in competition lane mayhem for more than 20 years. Match them with the new HCCA Amplifiers and Components that sound as awesome as they look and you're ready for action!

HCCA SUBWOOFER FEATURES AND BENEFITS
HIGH ROLL SURROUND

All HCCA woofers feature a proprietary Tri-Radius high roll balanced surround that is made of high density expanded polyester foam for linear controlled excursion that ranges a total of 4" peak to peak.

CONE

The HCCA cone is manufactured from a paper/fiber blend that is extremely rigid yet light in weight.

VOICE COIL

The HCCA has a massive 4" copper wound voice coil on an aluminum former that is Amide resin coated to resist damage in the intense heat that is generated at max excursion.

SPIDERS

To control the mass which is moving a total of 4" peak to peak, the HCCA woofer features a dual flat Conex spider mounted to a spider ring that incorporates a custom angle lock connection for both of the voice coils.

Quad Cooling

With the amount of travel this woofer has, keeping the voice coil is key to the performance and the long life of the driver. The HCCA subwoofers have four addditional methods of cooling designed into the mechanical components of the driver:

  • The cast aluminum basket has a large area that attaches to the top plate of the motor. The basket is bolted to the top plate of the motor assembly and is also bonded with a thermal conducive adhesive to aid in pulling heat from the motor assembly into the basket, essentially using the basket as a heatsink.
  • The cast aluminum basket also has large vent windows that allow volumes of air to flow freely in and out of the motor assembly.
  • The voice coil is X-vented at the top allowing heat to escape from inside the voice coil.
  • The back plate/pole piece of the driver is the largest single area of metal within the driver. To increase cooling, we have added cast aluminum heatsinks to both the back plate and to the pole piece of the motor assembly to remove heat from the drivers motor.

HCCA COMPONENT SPEAKERS

From Orion®, a world leader in competition lane mayhem for more than 20 years, match the frighteningly powerful HCCA subwoofers with the new HCCA Components that sound as awesome as they look and you're ready for action!

HCCA COMPONENT SPEAKER SYSTEMS FEATURES AND BENEFITS
SHALLOW MOUNTING

HCCA components feature a neodymium magnet assembly. Normal ceramic magnets would need to be 18 times the size to have the same magnetic energy. As fitment into vehicles has become more challenging for high-end speaker sets, higher grade materials are required to reach the performance targets. The basket also features a universal mounting pattern to fit any application.

HEAT DISSIPATION

While neodymium magnets are much more powerful than conventional ceramic magnets, they are sensitive to heart. Therefore, the speaker has been designed with various heat dissipation aspects. The basket is made of cast aluminum and is thermally bonded to the motor assembly to work as a large heatsink. The basket is also vented around the entire motor assembly to allow air to flow freely.

SUPERIOR SOUND QUALITY

Orion HCCA components use the best in all materials to ensure accurate reproduction of music. Kevlar/Paper blended cone, flat Conex spider for maximum control, silk dome tweeter for a smooth high frequency response and a custom crossover that features 12dB high-pass, 6dB low-pass twetter adjustments to adapt to any application.
